"7 billion people, 7 billions dreams, 7 billion chances . . .

. . . for engineers to turn dreams into reality.”

The theme of the 2012 National Engineers Week Foundation, February 19th-25th, is based on the projected world population of 7,000,000,000. There are many challenges facing our world that require immediate engineering solutions. The Foundation is a formal coalition of more than 100 professional societies, major corporations, and government agencies dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce to meet and overcome these challenges.

Since 1951, the Foundation has worked to raise public understanding and appreciation of engineers’ contributions to society. Reflecting the increasingly critical role engineers are destined to play in shaping the world of tomorrow, the Foundation also annually recognizes some of the most promising college engineering students from the US and across the world.

Explore the New Faces of Engineering College Edition Facebook page, a good source for academic and professional development opportunities. Meet engineering peers, learn about events, internships, jobs, competitions, engineering associations and more.
